Miss Colombia 2015 Ariadna Gutierrez high-fives Steve Harvey during a TV special last year.

Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach was not the only one who wanted to make sure host Steve Harvey got the Miss Universe winner right this year.

Back in Colombia, Miss Universe 2016 first runner-up Ariadna Gutierrez also had a similar message for Harvey. In an Instagram post on the day of the Miss Universe pageant, Ariadna first posted a photo of her and Pia hugging in last year’s pageant with the caption, “Hoy es el día! Today is the day! SPREAD LOVE NOT HATE.”

She then posted a photo of her and Steve high-fiving each other from the latter’s TV special last year with the caption, “I’m watching you! Te estoy viendoo,” apparently while the pageant was in progress.

It can be recalled that as a result of Harvey’s mistake of declaring Ariadna as Miss Universe last year, the Colombian beauty actually wore the Miss Universe crown for a few minutes before it was removed from her head by Miss Universe 2014 Paulina Vega and transferred to Pia.

This time, Harvey’s monumental faux pas was a running joke throughout pageant night (morning in Metro Manila) as he and in tandem with Pia Wurtzbach herself brought the house down with some of the telecast’s funniest moments. Even Andrea joined in the fun. When the Top 13 semifinals were announced, Harvey had a brief interview with each of the lucky candidates. When it was Andrea’s turn, Harvey feigned fear and exclaimed, ‘It’s happening again!” before Andrea gamely quipped, “Don’t worry…hug me!”

Andrea ultimately placed second runner-up in the pageant, ultimately denying Harvey one final reference from the hosting stint that made him “the most famous Miss Universe host” as he himself told Pia.

Just the same, Ariadna posted a collage of Andrea’s photos from the pageant with the message, “Orgullosos de ti!!!!!! COLOMBIA” which means, “We’re proud of you.”
