Malaysian MMA contender Ev Ting has called for a showdown with ONE lightweight champion Eduard Folayang following his victory over the latter’s ex-tormentor Kamal Shalorus in the main event of “ONE Championship: Throne of Tigers” Friday night at Stadium Negara in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The 27-year-old Ting, who just improved his record to 13-3, used a wide array of strikes to overcome Shalorus and cop a split decision nod after three five-minute rounds.

Having fought and beaten the likes of notable Pinoy MMA fighters such as Honorio Banario, Eric and Edward Kelly, Ting then set his sights on Folayang shortly after the fight.

“Eduard Folayang, I am coming to your home to take your belt. See you on April 21st,” he said in his post-fight interview.

TWO FILIPINO FIGHTERS LOSE IN THEIR UNDERCARD MATCH

On the undercard bouts, former boxer Roy Doliguez suffered his third consecutive defeat at ONE Championship after he was submitted by Alex Silva via armbar in the third round of their encounter.

Burn Soriano, meanwhile, was mauled in the opening round by hometown favorite Saiful Merican. He refused to answer the bell for round two, earning Merican a first round TKO victory over the Filipino. — BAP, GMA News
