A Filipino employed at a money exchange center in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates was caught on CCTV stealing Dh1,000 (P13,612) from a customer, Khaleej Times reported on Monday.

In the footage taken last November 3, the Filipino was seen secretly dropping to the cash register the Dh1,000 from the Dh2,000 handed to him by a Chinese customer, who handed him another Dh1,000 when told that the amount was short.

A separate report on The National said a Jordanian administrative executive saw the Filipino take the Dh1,000 from the cash register on CCTV.

“He waited until the employee went to the toilet and took the money from the register. When we reviewed the footage, he confessed to taking the money and never paying it back,” the executive said.

The Filipino, 35, admitted to stealing money at the Dubai Criminal Court and will be given a verdict on January 16. —Rie Takumi/KBK, GMA News
